I think location and condition are what make this bus rare.

I haven't seen any RHD dormobiles in the states. I have seen many dozens of LHD dormobile tops in the states. most of the ones that I have seen her in the states have westfalia kits. it was a factory option to get your westfalia with a dormobile top.

I cannot comment on how rare that bus is, but I will say that is WAY cool. It would be way cooler if it was an earlier split, but it is still pretty cool. I would love to have an early RHD bus.

Two of the Dormobiles at BBB last year were owner-installed roofs. There was a third dormobile there (the blue/teal one), but I don't know if it is a "real" dormobile.

The RHD doormobile was from Rhode Island. It was very cool with a newer tent attached. The owner was British, but I think he had been living in the states for some time. They also had some sort of newer domestic truck with them to haul gear and drive around in. Once the bus was parked and set-up it probably didn't go anywhere while they were camping.

We were also camping out on the Cape this summer and visited Jim and his family at Paine's campground in Wellfleet.

His "hack" is very well done! I was very impressed with the fit and finish of his dorm top installation.

How about this one...

64 Devon camper LHD?, flipseat, subhatch, factory safaris?

No good pics of the flipseat, but it is described as "reverible front bench seat"

I've seen this bus in person and I would never give $2000 for it. or what $4000 if it was running??
not naming any names but the guy selling it buy's cheap and sells high. It is his entire way of life though, and he surviving quite well. I guess I would do the same if it was my livelyhood.

I have never seen a rhd Dormobile in the states as well. The bus has Michigan plates on it, but I have never seen it at any of the VW shows there. I have attended most shows there and swap newsletters with the Mich VW club.

Very rare in the states. In the U.K. might be more common.

I have the references of a past sale on ebay of a 66 dormobile with incorrect interior upholstery and a updated fridge unit. This was a westy Dormobile like mine. It was restored and sold for $24,000! I used the sale for insurance comparison on my westy Dormobile.
