I just mounted 175/55 on stock rims with 4 inch narrowed beam...yep, beam to narrow, looks alright but could go lower with 2 inch..

Its an early nate beam, adjustable, narrowed 4 inch...looking to swap straight across for 2 inch....got air and big garage..in norcal

LOOKS PEEERFECT. I think if you go to a 2 inch, thats only an inch per side and your tires will rub on that ledge behind the dog legs.

With stock rims, you'd have to widen the beam for that to happen. Stock width beam on my '67 and my 5 spokes do that. A friend and I are looking into building a 2 inch narrowed beam for my bus.
