Reaching out to the swing axle community. ( mine is a 64 Cpe)
And I have done all the previous years tread reviews .
My question is: Will I notice any, improvement in ride, handling, etc, etc, if I install
a CambCompensator on my 64 CPE?
Some more background on my 64 GhiaVair CPE:
Had it 3 months, Previous owner, did complete body off build, Rebuilt Corvair 140, (stock cam) Holley 390 center mount carb, flipped ring gear, 165 80 15's which fit tight all around. The FR/R suspension is adjustable, every part is new or rebuilt, KYB gas shocks, Drum brakes.
So, I had to adjust the EMPI rear adjustable spring plates up, cause previous owner had it too low & tires rubbed. With I guess the KYB's making the suspension a VERY stiff ride. I don't really drive it fast in the corners, not like I would drive my Corvair. Just fast in the staights.
So should I install a Camber compensator on the rear? Will I notice a difference? And yes, I don't really know how a Ghia CPE is supposed to ride or feel on the road. _________________ Forgive me, I'm a Corvair person (raised on Corvairs)
I got a lot to learn about VW stuff! |
