This would seem a good solution. Anyone any experience with these?

I keep eyeballing those too...wonder if someone has installed one of those Motometer gauge holders on a bus?

Not my bus and i just copied this link from the BusBuddha's tumblr site. He has some interesting features on his Shasta bus and these gauges are one of them.

I just bought the same Gauges, love them. I have put three holes in the same plate as you, but in a straight line for oil pressure, oil temp and volts. The tach is in a chrome Pod on the dash near the ash tray (holes in dash were already there, easier to use them than fill them).

I would like to know what you've done on the inside of that panel to keep the gauges and wires dry and isolated. I had planned on vacuum forming a piece of acrylic over the backs of the gauges an panel then grommet seal a wire passage.

Gordo.

I tried to vacuum for a piece of acrylic for the back of gauges, but the depth was too much. The thick stuff would not form that far and the really thin stuff just came apart. So, I used cloth and fibreglass resin to shape the gauge back protector.

Once the pod dries enough i will trim it up to fit and drill one hole for the wires and use a grommet to seal them. The vent plate will sandwich this piece to hold it in place.

Gordo.

Welded up a holder to take place of the ash tray and no need for holes except for the cable to the engine going down thru the nose of the panel camper.

What is the 1-2-3-4 switch for? I'm guessing each cylinder temp?

Yes that is what it is. I bought the c.h.t gauge second hand from a guy who upgraded his aircraft. It came with four "j" type thermo couples all for less than 100 bucks delivered Smile

So, I thought that I would add my solution to the thread. I'm sure a bit too modern for some people, but gives nice display and logging on the megasquirt installation.

Thanks.

For the main dashboard (second picture) - everything is setup. I have offline navigation, music, radio. The engine button leads into the engine management software - I am still trying a few different programs out. The info there is all from the Megasquirt so has RPM, TPS etc. I can also start logging if required.

I removed the battery from the tablet, so it is running straight off the bus battery. Avoids the tablet getting flat, or issues with the battery from being plugged in all the time.

I ran an audio lead from the headphone jack, so just run a small speaker under the dash.

that looks pretty rad...

How did you figure out the megasquirt stuff? Is there a thread on that? I couldn't find anything.

I feel like you could make the screen look like vintage dials Wink

I run these from shorty's. I met the dude Aaron at a show and he makes cool trinkets for vw's.
