Der Papierblumenmoerder" (1970) if this is true then this is a at most 5 year old notch. Early, like 63 and earlier. Sunroofed, wide rear window trim, big 1500 (62) car. A baby, stripped and left to be scrapped.

Red '70 Fastback automatic, movie "The Student Nurses" 1971. In the shot where the woman (actress Brioni Farrell) gets into the car, you can see after she starts the engine that she moves her right arm to the rear- indicating an automatic transmission. Pushing it from the rear to try to start it won't work, honey.

WTF is this! ? To be safe from an assailant with a 12 gauged shotgun, put a 68 fasty between you? Laughing Laughing Laughing

Be safe in driving your vintage Type 3 from shotgun wielding assailants. Cool

TV show "The Beverly Hillbillies" season 5 ep. 20 "The indians are coming" (1967). Even though the front hubcaps are flat and seem to have the narrow-slot beauty rings which are for 5-bolt wheels, a split second beforehand shows the rear wheel having the high nipple hubcap and what appear to be the larger oval-slot beauty rings from a '66+ with 4-bolt wheels. That's Granny and Jethro in their jalopy car.

Movie "Hopscotch" (1980), starring Glenda Jackson and Walter Matthau. Mrs. Jackson drives a pale yellow pre-'70 Squareback, which has '70+ bumpers and front turn signals Confused . The grey sedan following Mrs. Jackson off the ferry is a British Rover P5B with Rostyle wheels. This model has the 3.5 liter aluminum V8 engine originally sold in some 1960's Buick models, as well as the Range Rover.

Wow. Nice catch. Later upgrades being what they are - some folks just had to have them. Putting "SAFER" additions to a Type 3 are rare to see indeed. As most volks considered their car "safe" enough. Wink Laughing

There is a black square towards the beginning of Woodstock the Movie

None of these are more than a few seconds long on the screen though.

Lords of Dogtown uses a late model squareback throughout the movie.
