no doubt you are aware that everyone who posts on the forums believes that GEX is a menace to the VW hobby. would a sticky that posts the visitors opinions be a legally sticky thing for you to allow?

if so, will my post be deleted from existing threads if i was to attempt an organized effort to get visitors to write protest letters to HOT VW mag, and others who are willing to advertise for GEX? i would do almost anything to put those crooks out of business.

a sticky in all categories would be ideal

Everett could be held liable for slander, defamation of character, and God-only-knows what else a lawyer could dream up. It's best for people to post caveats. Given enough time (and rope), GEX will hang itself. It's happened to other companies in the past, and GEX is no exception.

GEX has been around a long time, and i have observed that here in america, mercantile "crime" pays.

i guess the GEX lawyer would go after me too, eh?

what if i was to sell GEX sucks bumper stickers? opinions please?

This is not possible.

You can solicit people to sign your petition as well as keep people updated on your particular case. Keep it limited to the Classifieds Forum.

i really should have known, and i have been bad lately, i even got deleted yesterday. i just dont know where opinion ends and slander begins. "GEX sucks" is not stated as opinion, instead its stated as fact. isnt that slander? would a bumper sticker have to say: dont buy GEX engines? will Ev get in trouble if i offered such a sticker in the classifieds? obviously not every VW owner reads the sambaforum, if they did, GEX would be out of business now. but VW owners all ogle other VWs and their bumper stickers? a better way to get the word out, possibly.

There is a thread in the Classifieds about "GEX Payback", but this guy's story changes with every post. Then again, he went about the whole scenarios just back-asswards.

I'm pretty sure you could make a bumper sticker that says "GEX Sucks" and put it on your car. Free speech...

You could put it on the site for sale but I doubt anyone would buy it.

yeah , i considered that but even if i chose a better slogan, i have come to realize that no one would even want to sport one on their bus. if i am wrong this is your chance to speak up!

everyone was so outraged at Anton Dabbs... the way he took the money and ran, obviously illegal. and although GEX hurts people legally, think about this: by comparison, at least anton saved everyone the trouble of installing and then later removing the bogus motor!

it may be my imagination in overdrive but i now have the feeling that the folks on this site are willing to just roll over for any legal mercantile mediocrity. or perhaps you all think that raising a stink with bumper stickers, and letters of protest to hotVWs, would be ineffective. you may be right! but i believe that just talking about GEX on this forum will never put them out of business either.

I think the bumper stickers are pointless.

The idea of sending a letter to Hot VWs signed by tons of people is a good one. I don't know if it will do anything but it's worth a shot if you want to make the effort.

I think there are more people who think that anyone who buys an engine should do some sort of research first. It takes about 30 seconds doing an Internet search to find out GEX has a bad reputation. Or call the Better Business Bureau, they have complaints against them, at least according to internet posts I have seen (I have not called myself).

I have a hard time believing that would be the first letter they've receibed on that subject. Obviously they know about GEX's reputation in the community and feel the advertising money is more valuable than the integrity of their magazine.

Right is still right and Wrong is wrong no matter what it cost. They should care. Maybe I am too much black and white, but they should if it is a verifiable problem.

If your integrity and judgment are in question then eventually the readers will not value what you say. Least ways with this subscriber of HotVW. Don't know till you ask.. Glenn ya have to dream, but sometimes you have to do more then that.
