Well, the was the best turnout I've seen in years. 500 show cars, and they had to start turning people away. So, where are all the pics I saw people taking?

I will agree with that. Great turnout! Lots of wonderful VWs to see and appreciate.

The swap was still a little hit or miss IMO. Granted I did find a few items I couldn't live without.

The best acquizition by far is the Bussesandbabes.com t-shirt :)

Pics or it didn't happen! Hope you guys all had a good time...I was sittin' at home thinking about all the good times I had at the Bug Out in the past.

The swaps were a little disappointing. I think there's a few reasons for that.

1. These parts aren't getting any newer, and are slowly disappearing.
2. The Internet. Sites like this one allow people to sell things all year, and earn top dollar on them.

Yeah BOB, aka Bug out Bill made his Bi-annual long distance trip out of town.

i guess ill be the negative nancy lol. i thoght the turn out was worse then in years past. the numbers were up because of all the water pumper kids with there showroom cars

The only thing that made the show for me,were the people that I hung with. Change of venue would be nice, perhaps 1/4mile racing and nearby camping?

jeremyrockjock Tue May 31, 2011 11:32 am

There were alot of water pumpers for sure.

I had a great time, many many awesome show cars there from truly inspired individuals, lots of creativity.

Awesome hanging with everyone and shooting the shit. No worries on heat, swap, waterpumpers, just come to have fun or stay home and talk on the samba...

best quote ever.

My hats off to the Old Dominion track crew! For what seemed like the first time in a very long time the crew had the track in top condition!

I saw the lanes get shut down for anything questionable and have it cleaned up and ready in an efficient amount of time. I had not one complaint from any of my Points Series racers about track conditions!

Thanks again to Les and the Old Dominion crew for doing a great job! Keep up the great work!

Stay tuned for news about a possible new Drag Class coming to BugOut 70!

True! x2 for Manny's comment.

... Hey, I now resemble those watercooled comments! LOL

Enjoyed the drags especially. Everybody was quite willing to explain their cars and stuff. Had fun.

Anybody notice those couple of moments where everything got really quiet?

What you do?

That's me backing that Ghia down. The guy who owns it has a broken arm, and put it on that trailer all by himself just to be able to show it. Drove from Hagerstown.

Whatever dude. If he can drive a truck towing a trailer then he can drive a ghia...
