A V8 guy told me he has 4(2set) 48DRLA that mounted in rover engine but the engine never put back to the car so the carbs is new(his version) after bit inspection I cant really tell that the carbs never touch the petrol, is there any way to tell this??, what is good price for good used 48DRLA??? just the carb no linkage/intakes etc.I own bus so I dont familliar with this size of carb.other question this carb been stored dry from the 80s(as he said) do i need to buy rebuild kits to change the seals??

One way to see what something is worth is to look in the classifieds here on the Samba, or on eBay and see what they are selling for.

Yes it is possible that they could need new gaskets and O rings after sitting on a shelf for 25 years.

Ok thanks for the reply, been search in samba and ebay but not much 48 on the sale except new one with intake and all the kits ready to bold-on.other question since the 2 carbs are conected together for the V8 engine,do you think some parts been changed like the idle throtle adj lever??? I also notice that the main air corector are very short compare than my drla 36 ?

Some of the V8 linkage will need to be discarded, depends on how it's set-up. I believe CB Performance sells a kit with all the throttle shaft levers to use in a dual carb VW application.

I've seen short and tall air corrector jets, shoudln't be a problem - all DRLA jets are interchangeable.

Thanks RIS you answer my 2 post, I found a guy In Italy he will rebuild my 48DRLA and put the missing parts,I have 4 of them now and 2 without throtle return springs.

yes Bruce that the easy way, I wasn't sure after 20years+ I can still smell petrol, but now I bought 4 of them only 2 come with return spring and find out the set up for V8 engine change some parts in lingkage/thorotle shaft.
