im not whining,my postings are.....informed commentary. lol.
seriously, i think there are certain trends in the hobby/lifestyle that need to be discussed in a public forum for all to see and partake in. if we dont keep it real we'll only be shooting ourselves in the foot in the long run.
if a honest discussion can take place then maybe it can help educate buyers that are fueling a trend.
the casino kombi is a cool bus and priced reasonably. i bet it would sell quickly ,for more money, with a few small changes. |

This "rare" bus has been advertised several times since last July and the ad has 81 lines of text;
I don't know who the fuck you are quoting but I'm fairly certain you will not find the word "rare" in that ad.
81 lines of text......I'm not sure what the gripe is, are you complaining that the description is too honest and complete? |

What changes do you suggest? Curious....there have been a few things that I have recommended to Lind we change. |

yeah, I am really tired of that ad being up also, maybe it is because I own half of that bus and I really would like it to sell. LOL.
Why not try reducing the price a little then. Obviously not attracting people at that. I am sure that someone here in England would snap it up if they felt teh price was right. It is a cool bus in my opinion but then you already know that .!!!
What do you think a fair price is? I know Lind, Clara and I invested about $2000 in parts and a combined total of 150 hours of labor (not including driving time to bring it to L.A.). I'll be the first to admit I'm confused as to what stuff is worth these days.... |

I only want to whine about not having enough money to buy some of these nice buses that are for sale on the Samba.com other than that I'm completely happy with what I own. |

I think the Casino Kombi would have sold a long time ago if you guys would touch up the roof. The rest of that bus looks amazing, the roof is throwing people off... Plus, this is a tough time of the year to sell anything. People are X-mas poor and some folks are saving for taxes, others are waiting for their return. Once spring gets here, look out! |

If the Club Casino is still for sale this spring/summer, I am very interested in it. Either that - or the Pink Panel. |

I'm sorry, Lind, but it was late and I was thinking that you were part owner of the "suicede" bus, which I thought was a strange bus. I like the casino bus but I think it would be a good idea to keep its description shorter. |

I agree.....it would be nice for the roof blisters to dissapear. It really wouldn't be all that work, because there's no body damage, only some missing paint. |

:?
Long descriptions rock. The more information you have prior to a purchase, the better. Perhaps I'm in the minority here...but that's what I like to see when purchasing something, and I try to recipricate when selling something. |

I'd MUCH rather have a verbose description. At least you can weed through it for the choice bits of information. It's a hell of a lot better than the alternative, such as this:

Actually, I think Lind had mentioned to me that he thought the description was too long. But, here's the problem....the bus is in storage in L.A.. Lind lives in Idaho. I live in Washington state.
I only get down to L.A. to show the bus every few months or so and to weed out the tire kickers, and to weed out the emails asking questions and additional photo requests I typed up a description which covers the bus from top to bottom and doesn't leave room for many questions. |

I wouldn't let anyone make you feel bad about writing a very detailed description, nor would I get defensive about it.. I wish they all were as good. |

The price people ask for a bus doesn't faze me anymore. To each there own. I look and say wow, hope they get that, then look at my buses and think how lucky I am as I couldn't afford most of them today.
When I start thinning the herd I am going to ask what I WANT for one of my buses, take it or leave it. I get people trying to buy some of them and making offers, some are stupid low and some seem fair to good, BUT aren't what I feel it's worth to me so I don't sell them, make me the right offer and it's gone. I have sold a lot of buses and always have gotten my asking price good or bad, people laughed then but changed their minds today and wish they would have paid the price.
People thought I was crazy to pay what I did for my SC or DC both being in pieces, but in todays market I stole them, both rust free original owner buses.
No need to whine it's just reality, thats why there's lot's of grocery stores, you can buy the same stuff at different prices at different locations, same goes for buses, same modles different locatons and /or sellers, different prices, shop for the deal.
ps. I still have the dealer logoed SC for sale for 1500 dollars, I feel it's a fair deal. |

My turn, Why is it always that a bus I'm interested in is in BFE? None of them usually would be driveable so I'd have to trailer them.
Plus if you get there and it ain't quite what was represented you don't have a lot of room for negotiation since you've flown or drove for hours.
Then there was the local SC that was for sale that I finally figure out how I can afford it and the ad disappears without a trace.
Can I have some cheese with my whine? |
