Its good to see a group of folks form Michigan. I'm just outside of Flint...quite a ways from having my 58 put back together......but slowly working on it

We'll have to look for a GTG in the future

I do not know about the rest of you Michigan folks, but all my projects are on ice...literally. The things that I have to do in the garage just do not sounds as fun to do standing on that cold concrete. I have heat, but that doesn't warm up the floor. Next house will have heated floors in garage. I hope that all you folks are well and getting ready for the Buggy Builders Show in March. I am usually able to snag a lot of stuff they are tossing for a good price. Stay warm...because I certainly am!

anyone post in here anymore?

sandshark Sat Jan 27, 2007 6:48 pm

No doubt... kinda quite in here...
I guess I'll get the ball rolling...
Anybody have any cool winter projects going?

I recently (finally!) started the restoration/cal-looking of my '57 oval.

Body sheet metal is at my body guy's place getting worked on, actual body to follow shortly as soon as I figure out some misc stuff (IE: fuel pump and reg mount, oil filter mount, breather mount, test install full syncro gearbox etc...). Thank god for a heated garage!

Plan for the car is sort of a mid-western "DRKC" inspired car... hot street, some drag - goal of mid to low 12's. lowered/narrowed frt end, nerf bars, anthracite paint, basically stock body/interior, RLR cage, BRM's, rancho pro-street gearbox, and full on 2276 with magneto/IDA's etc... should be done by summer '08.

Let's hear what everyone else has going...

To all yall Michigan Dubbers I am still alive and a little colder. I have cheated the weather a little. I moved some items in the basement and have been prepping parts to make assembly easier. DO NOT TELL MY WIFE, but I have wheeled out several rims in my basement as well. She will start wondering where the fine white dust is coming from sooner or later. Hey, do you guys know anyone that has a pair of 6" or narrower U.S. Indy wheels aluminum and slotted. They can fit Chevys, VWs, etc. Need them for the front of an Old School project. Willing to pay or trade somethings. Put the word out for me. Here is a pic of a 15X7 that I have.
