I have recent photo of it resting at top secret location. Visited the car in October this year (2007) and it's still in ONE piece. The picture is in my CPU (Im at work computer) so I'll try to post just ONE picture, just for you Sambaians later...

Please dispel this nasty rumor about it being cut up. Its currently preserved for one final run someday in near future. This fella worked hard to get this car in one piece running all over the country to piece it back together (yes at one point it was slated to be cut up- but rescued just in time!)

Specs:
DDS wheels (13" fronts, 15" rears on Hoosier slicks)
2265cc (86x92?)
Van Willigan heads/48 IDAs (from his ex dragster)
green plexiglass windows
DDS parts a galore (shifter, pulley, etc)

Watch out for its final run someday in the future.

It is too bad this dude did not realize the pure coolness of leaving this as it was..The car now went from one on the most respected Supersbeetles to everyone shrugging their shoulders saying what a shame..Supers have enough issues with people trash talking them..This guy did himself & his car an injustice..My Flat black & white 73 standard with Fuchs now has a greater selling potential than his former retro racer...
