Long shot, but could anyone here put something like this together for Barndoors?

I, for one, would really appreciate it.

Well volunteered Chris
I know some of the hardware is not available now, ie shape of screwhead etc like the one which holds the deluxe luggage rails down, i think they are called 'philister' head. And most of these snap off when you remove the rails
And all the 8mm bolts have 14mm size heads.
I have just ordered some front beam bolts M14X1.5X100MM high tensile with the same amount of thread as the og one's so if anybody wants any i will have some and can get more.

Do you have contact info?

Thanks

The one i'm looking for and can't find is the screws that hold the luggage rails down on the deluxe rear shelf, mine were rusted out and had to be cut

yes
actually, sorry, i don't think they are for sale

DIN 316 German Type, Rounded Ear Form, Wing Screws are still available. the closest length i found was 8x16, but i don't think the extra 1mm is gonna be noticeable when installed, and i guess if you were really concerned, you could grind off that 1mm.

http://www.metricmcc.com/productDetails.asp?C=3&PID=7014

i got some 316 screws a while ago to compare them to original safari window wingnuts, because the ones that come with some kits are really crappy, and they were identical to the real ones (in shape, they were not chrome plated). i would think they would be exactly like, or very very similar to the seat wingnuts in the pics above.

Thanks hazetguy!

So who is going to buy 100 so i can have two

hazetguy Sun Mar 11, 2007 12:17 pm

Minimum Order Quantity: 25 pieces

and at a price if under $1.50 each, that seems alot cheaper than trying to talk merz out a couple.

Rusting Hulk Sun Mar 11, 2007 12:25 pm

Ok Jon i'll take 2 at $3+shipping
Hows thing with you? See your still busy with the mechanical side of things, re 53 front beam

So has someone bought a batch of those wing nuts? I'd buy 2 if they have...

RockStock Mon Mar 12, 2007 12:44 pm

there's a bolt wholesalers near me. i'll see what they can do

Anchovy Mon Mar 12, 2007 1:19 pm

I ordered 100 from a retailer in Texas. They were cheaper than the list price in the internet. Shipping to the UK in a global priority mail envelope is $5. If you guys across the pond have trouble finding them send me a PM and I will hook you up.

Eh Jeff..........are you talking about the ones that hold down the top portion of the rear bus? If so, I will take two pairs. I do have on og one if you need one to make copies?

And FYI..............Merzio is not selling those bolts/nuts.

Anchovy Mon Mar 12, 2007 2:32 pm

Johnny, I am talking about these type, but 1 mm longer because everyone knows we run 'em a little longer out here in Cali.

I'll let you know when I get the order.

Secret information: I am going to grind some down to 15mm, dip them in hydrocloric acid, let them rust up a bit and then sell them to suckers as NOS for big bucks!

bubba Mon Mar 12, 2007 2:34 pm

I need a set of those mirror screws, if anyone has some at a affordable price. I think for $28.00 I'm getting screwed!

Rusting Hulk Mon Mar 12, 2007 3:09 pm

Re mirror arm bolts: There is a guy in Germany who does them for 1 euro each, i think he has two length's
email:[email protected]
fax 0231-47-83-57 not sure what numbers you have to add to get through from your end.
