I stopped at the local vw dealer here,checked with parts there is four of
them in Texas.Was planning on buying all four until I asked the price
21.00 per washer, that not a typo error either.What the hell I'm doing
a high end resto on the anyway. |

21 bucks for that special "thick" 40HP distributor spacer? Ouch!
I read your earlier post about this just now, I've had a number of 40HP's but I know towards the end of the series they had a different drive gear as well. Some time ago, when someone asked about the differences, I did this picture showing them, one of the pics are out of that Bentley manual you have, plus one that I have in my parts tub, and I can't remember where I got the other pic. The late-40HP might be what you need to have. Hopefully all you need is that special spacer, at that price!
