Is there any reason why i can't run 1.4 rockers with my stock cam and heads, in my 1915? and will it free up some more hp?

Yes, a stock cam works with 1.4 rockers and gives a slight boost across the rpm range. You will need shorter pushrods.

It's won't be a Hi-Revving engine, but it'll have incredible bottom end power.

I guess im wondering if it is worth it or not , and some people say shim the 1.4 rockers and some say shorten your pushrods? im looking for a little extra hp but mabey i should have gotten bigger heads or a more aggresive cam but this is the first ac motor ive built so i was alittle cautious ive got mabey 600 miles on it and am pretty pleased :)

I don't feel buying new $250 rockers and another $100 for new correct length push rods would be worth the small HP gain.

If you come across a good deal on a used set then I might go for it.

So dave the best way to use 1.4 is with shorter pushrods instead of shimming correct

Yes, the correct way is cut to length push rods.

However, there are so many variables between different brands of all parts used that every engine must be measured and set up accordingly.

My dad and I both use this setup in our bajas, but we are running 2010s. Great low to mid range but peters out at about 5200. Yes, the correct way to setup is adjusting the pushrod length.
