If you want a split, you should get a split and not destroy an oval. That sort of franken car will not be worth what a real oval is worth. |

'factory black patina' - when it seems to be polar silver or similar judging by the inner surface... |

Maybe the factory black patina adds $600-$700 on the value. To many people think they have gold. |

My '55 has seller's factory black patina. Meaning only a seller would call it patina :D |

This does look NOS to me since the sticker is still there and the J-pipe looks unused BUT it obviously has some serious shelf wear or that is was stored somewhere wet for quite a while
Opinion: $225 should be at least for a pair of them |

Yes. The bottom of lakes tend to be moist. |

The word "semaphore" kicks up the value by several hundred percent, apparently. But the reality is, that same wire cover for the left side of the steering column that hides the turn signal wires is the same on non-sem cars, too. My '56 non-sem car had it and my '56 semaphore car has the exact same metal cover. Common to both. |

I'm not endorsing the price or the condition of the part at all.
I do want to point out the switch wire wire covers are different between semaphore cars and non semaphore cars. Semaphore switches only have 3 wires and the covers have a lower profile. Non semaphore cars have more wires, 6 I believe, the covers are taller to accommodate this. |

Original cars are showing up here and other places that are originally marked sold............then for sale again. Reason for relisting should always be given......this ploy almost never ends well. |

I don’t know which is higher, the taillight placement, the price, or the owner. I think the taillight placement on this one is the highest I’ve ever seen, along with the other two things I mentioned....
