I have a 1700 short-block from a 72 bus. Can this be made into a 2000cc or should i get rid of it and find a 2000cc case. It would be built for high-performance but would it be advisable to just get the 2 liter case in the first place. Thanks for any help or suggestions.

you can have your case bored out but you can probably get a 2.0L case cheaper then taking the smaller one to a machine shop ect...

Once again Jakub you know not what it is your talking about... the type 2/4 and porsche 914 cases all have the same sized holes for the cylinders to fit in... no need to bore anything.
Sean, Yes there are some differences to be considered when using the earlier cases and various heads throughout the years...
Skip on over to www.type2.com go to the "Library" and look for the info on cases... there is a lot of interesting info there about what your asking...
