I have a Gene Berg shroud mounted dual carb linkage. Are there any advantages of a hex bar linkage over the GB style? Using it with idf 40's.

In my opinion you already have the best linkage setup. I'd stick with the GB's. Even the GB linkage for dual Kadrons is the best set-up going.

I think that Gene Berge linkage feels the best and has the best peddle action. But heres some thought and something an old racer once told me. Have you ever watched you fan shroud when you trottle up your engine, probably not, not easy to do by yourself. But it bucks when the fan spinds. So any linkage that is mounted to the shroud is gonna affect dual carbs. Hex bar linkage is probably more accurate but it just feels sloppy. Deano Dynasour made linkage that bolted to the case. And I have been told that it was the best. But its hard to use with an alternator, because one of the linkage arms has to run under the alternator. All in all I think I would still run Gene Berge linkage just for the peddle action. Feels like a new car.

Thanks, gonna stick with the GB. There are plenty of other parts I can spend that money on.

As Trayle said! GB feels solid and more positive, though the hex bar is definately more accurate. Depends on your use but for the drivers I would stay with the GB.

CSP, in Arcadia, CA makes some REALLY nice dual carb linkage. It's made in Germany, passes TUV spec (TUV is Germany's version of SAE, sorta), double bearinged bellcrank mechanism, fits under the alternator/generator, and is adaptable to most dual carb applications. It's not real cheap, $79.99 U.S., but ya gets what ya pays for.... www.customspeedparts.com
