anyone have a good trick for getting a stubborn inner bearing race out of a drum? [The outer one was no problem]

Did you try heating up the drum a little with a torch and knocking it out with a punch from the other side?

I did try heating up the drum; the problem is that there is almost no lip to place the punch on. I'm going to try grinding the drum away a little with a dremel so i have a better surface to hit.

Try dressing up your drift punch on the grinder and then try to drive out the race. Good luck.

if you clean all the grease out you may find 2 indents in the casting that you can get a long punch on, be sure to work both sides equally to prevent binding.

It is possible to grind a notch in the race and then hit it with a chisel to crack it, then it falls out.

thanks for the ideas, I finally got it out by grinding away the drum a little with a dremel. This gave me a nice solid edge to put a punch on.
