Linda, there is a roll of Duct Tape on the floor in the bottom right. It is Gorilla tape and is my "bus" duct tape that just lives in there. There is a silver roll of Foil Tape. If you are asking what is applied to the floor, it is Second Skin Damplifier.
Today was a good good day!
I took the ceiling down today because I wasn't happy with the fit along the bottom. It bowed out in between the supports and made an ugly gap. I took it down, cut and added twice the supports at the bottom edge and ran 1/4" plywood instead of 1/8". While it was open I also added a layer of MLV type material for sound deadening. Pretty much the whole bus is getting the Damplifier, Bubble insulation, and then MLV sound deadening.
Put the roof back in and damn, it is straight along that bottom edge and the gaps are gone. Sucks doing things twice but everything I do is the first time for me.... soooo learning curve, yea.
After that I worked on the air diverter. It wasn't hooked up but all teh seals and everything are good. I just took the vent plate off, reached in there and straigtened out a bent rod, and installed the knob. works great.
Then it was on to the kick panels. I had cut them out and finished them during the day. The nose got the 3 layer sound/insulaltion treatment
and then I fit the panels... it is coming right along!
edit- went back out to the bus and put a new dome light lens on the back cargo light and also installed preheat tube and tin seal.
Tonight I will be fulfilling screen orders and tomorrow celebrating fathers day... maybe I should take a break? Although I really want to get these interior panels finished! |

Make sure that nothing is put inside the two front doors.
Except for the rusted out sheet metal, that is a cool looking bus. |

JOGR so what is best the aluminum tape or the duct tape? Personally I don't want tape on my newly painted floors but it appears it is best for sound deadening but what about moisture? Anyone?

Linda,
That is not Duct tape stuck to the floors. That is a roll of Duct tape sitting on the floor. The stuff stuck to the floor is a sound dampening product that I believe has a self adhesive backing. |

| I would never put anything over the floors of my buses, except for the floor mats, especially anything that is sticky. One day, the material would have to be removed and it would be a pain in the butt to do so. Also, the drain holes around the cargo floor halves should not be covered. I have always liked the sounds in my buses, anyway. It is music to my ears. 8) |

The bulkhead was patch-worked in and had the wrong color. Cut it out, painted it the correct color and then welded it back in.
