what year is it Tue May 29, 2007 7:12 am

What do you people think about a 1955cc engine? 90.5x76 stroke. I'm going to put it in a 69 Bug. It will be street driven. Thinking about dual Kadrons, Engle 110 cam, 8 to 1 compression, 40x35 heads, and a 1 1/2 merged header with a quiet pack. I am going to have full flow, 1 1/2 deep sump, and doghouse cooler. Good engine?

Certainly seems a sensible combination. Have you considered a 78mm crank, using the "B" 90.5 pistons? That'd give you 2007cc and might even simplify the build due to using thinner cylinder base shims than with the 76 crank and "A" piston sets. Friend has such an engine (110, 40x35, 1 1/2" header) and it is a strong, cool running highway cruiser, though he used 44 IDF Webers.

a friend told me 78.4 crank with b pistons and stock rods you don't have to use any shims. i'm thinking about building that motor sometime this year to replace my 1776cc.

That's the exact setup I'm starting on right now except I'm using 48 IDA's. Right now its a 2074 with 92's. Can I just swap out the pistons and jugs to change the displacement with no additional work? Sorry, don't mean to hyjack the thread. :D
