I am lookng for the best header and muffler combo for my type 3. i want a coated header and a v8 style muffler. i have been thinkg about building my own 3-chamber flowmaster setup but wanted to see what is the best first. Who makes the best muffler? i was told by steve at bill & steves that a bug muffler will fit under a square. Also are Kymco's headers good? i know they sell a coater type 3 header for $125 has anyone used this header before? thanks 4 the help

Actually Kymco came to mind when you asked about a type III exhaust. They make one exclusively for the type III. You can't beat a ceramic coated exhaust system for longevity. Their system definetly looks good to me. Now their Dynomax muffler is not a straight-thru like my Flowmaster 3 incher. Theirs is baffled and has fiberglass. You can ask people for their opinion on mufflers and you will get different manufacturers. I am more partial to Flowmaster. It is a straight thru type and sounds DEEP and THROATY. And is also a sealed muffler. I have a 3 inch flowmaster with a 1-5/8" on my 2332 daily driver Vert. Check out some different types of muffler systems on some Dubs to see which sounds best to you. That's what I did. Good Luck!

thats rick.. is the 3in flowmaster a 3 chamber or a 2 chamber? also what series is it? 40, 50, 80 etc. is it the delta flow or the original? thanks

The coated header may or may not last longer than a standard header. I have one that I can see through, The ceramic coating just held in the heat and ate away the metal, and this is sunny nor-cal. I would but the system ram and have a muffler shop do the ceramic, so they can do it inside and out. Ask kymco if their mufflers are done inside and out

I believe it is a 2 chamber. Their is a V-type deflector inside of it, and that's it. Straight in and the exhausts exits. Like I said it is a 3 incher. All I have seen where I live is the 2.5 incher. I haven't seen any like the Flowmaster I run. I like to be different, too. Not sure of the series. It just has patent numbers on it. But from what I read about it, it's the loudest series Flowmaster makes. Sounds Tuff!
