Nice find! How's the undercarriage? The nose looks a bit rusty towards the bottom, but the rockers look great! Can't wait to see some more pictures!

Dinosaur World, was previously known as John Agar's Land of Kong.

John Agar http://www.johnagar.com/index.htm starred in lots of those 50's sci-fi/horror movies. I wonder if this is the same John Agar and if he owned or had an interest in this back in the day, like Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede?

Cool find BTW.

answered my own question.

John was the silent partner.

Leave the paintings. That bus is cool! I'd also like to see pics of the rest of the park.

I am a big fan of weird NJ, and have visited several of the sites shown in the books and magazine. Many of them in my '74

I've read them, never thought of them as a guide to bus hunting :) Lets go!

Add me in as another that thinks this bus is bitchin'.

No dice on firing her up. Got some electrical issues sorted but couldnt get her started. I though i had a bad solenoid but when i pulled the starter, it was fine. I peeked inside the tranny and saw the flywheel's teeth were totally chewed up. Guess the next job is to pull the motor. No big deal though, it will give me a chance to power wash teh engine compartment and under carriage.

I did find this in the engine compartment. Look like an engine case to you?

Guess that explains the later model Dual Port Brad!

Heres a few more pic.s and updates:

Heres the M codes and Destination code for Clara and Lind, sorry i cut this one alittle short when resizing it.

Heres a rear shot that show shos how it fades to night in the rear, plus a few other logo detail shots:

Oh, yeah and there is a fair amount of rust in the lower nose and rockers. Id really hate to lose the logos by repairing the rust, so ill probably just treat it and leave it. The frame rails and floors are nice but the rear out riggers and crossmember probably need to be replaced in the near future.

Ill post a gallery on flicker or somewhere of the dinosaurs and the park itself, then post a link to it. I didnt really see an appropriate catagory for dinosaurs under The Samba Gallery

Theres still a few unsettling mannequins hanging around the place brandishing pistols, cigarettes and hamburgers too :?

I think ^that's^ the koolest thing of all! Musta been a fun park to visit!

That reminds me, The 40 Ft Kong supposedly had eyes that glowed red and a continuous looped tape recording of him roaring. Im thinking i might just need some red parking light bulbs in the headlight buckets ;)

Man, that's too cool. We carry many of the Weird state books at work...I'll have to see if there's a Weird Arkansas.

bigredd Tue Sep 18, 2007 11:50 pm

I am glad to see someone got the bus.

bugboy63 Wed Sep 19, 2007 7:11 am

that is definitly going to be a focal point at any show you take it to.

i'd get it runnin', give it a good cleaning and roll it like it is.

once the word gets out to more people about the rebirth of this bus,
i am sure you will start to get all kinds of people tellin' you stories
and bringing you old pics of this bus.

enjoy it 8)

You know what, that's a good point! I mean, how many people went through that park and took pix with that bus in it? Hmm, sounds like a Google image search waiting to happen. :)
