Today Scooby Blu to the shop to have the Brake Master Cylinder replaced (I had the part) I sat there for 5 hrs only to find out that it was the top of the Clutch Master (the accordion part). So sat around several more hrs while the owner drove to pick one up. I offered to go but was turned down. So fixed within minutes and then putting the top of the dash and wiring/harnesses back on blew a few fuses on the glow plugs. My bill was for over $300.00 and only $120.00 of that was labour time.. The cylinder cost $171 but he only paid less than $100.00 but he charged me more because he went to pick it up. gggggrrrrr See SB thread.

I received my new Van Cafe muffler and tailpipe from UPS today. I'm not sure when it will be installed, but as soon as I have time. I don't want to do it in the rain.

tried to buff out the oxidation.not so well ,must have more power.drove it.best feeling ever. :D replaced blown bulb above sink

Last weekend, installed Jackbombay poptop shocks and rearmost Yakima Wide Body artificial raingutters for poptop roof rack. I used same hole for Wide Body and shock so no big washer stands out in the fiberglass.

Today, replaced old brake flex lines with brand new sparky steel lines all around, can't tell much difference when applying brakes but I did notice front left flex line was about to burst in one place so I'm glad I did this. Also replaced original speedo cable with VanCafe OE german speedo cable.

Replaced sink water pump. No flow. Detached hoses, but broke the 90 degree elbow on top of the water tank. DAMN.
Ordered a new faucet since the original is clogged up.
Going to replace the water lines because they look gross. Sounds like I'll be heading to the store for an elbow and a few feet of water line. I guess from what I read, these small $30 projects get bigger...I'm a new Westy owner, but coming from the Jeep rock crawling world I'm not surprised there's more wrong when you take it apart. Fix it right the first time.

Planning the stereo and upgraded two battery auxiliary system for this weekend.

added a dual horn and relay set up, copying the factory way. Two Fiamm horns (not air horns) and now the van sounds like an old Cadillac...sheesh.

Today I replaced my leaky muffler with a new Van Cafe muffler. I also put on a new tailpipe. It only took me about 2 hours. It sounds great and looks good.

My van turned 134,000 miles today. At the end of this month it will be 24 years since I brought it home new.

Congrats! That's the kind of post I love to read.

Haven't done anything to our Westy yet today, but we're leaving on vacation this weekend so tonight will be a flurry of prep & pack.

Finished shampooing the carpet, cleaned the seats and reinstalled both. Rebuilt the front calipers from complete disassembly. Cleaned up the clutch and pressure plate. Got accessories ready to put back on new engine.

Oil change...and realized I have a leaky water pump. Rats! So I'll be getting a new one, and learning how to install it.

I did this a couple of years ago with the same result. At least it might frighten some drivers into thinking an old fart in a Caddy is about to cream 'em. Nobody's afraid of a Vanagon.

Filled a few windshield dings: UV activated resin w/vacuum purge & pressure application.

now that's skill!

I emptied the food and lots of the camping gear, linens, organized the parts dept and tools and put a new pepperming glass jar in as I just broke the other. Baby food yum yum NOT :lol:
