You put the frame in the smaller channel instead of the slider channel with the felt? Doesn’t that flip the window frame from outside to inside with the drainage holes on the inside? Sorry just trying to wrap my head around this. I have a set of jealousies and I’d love to do this! Thanks

This shows the thing jalousie frame vs the wider window channel from the slider. So you flip the frame from inside out to use the smaller channel?

I guess you must have missed that indeed the frame is then installed inside out.

See this pic showing the channel used (the original inner channel, becomes the most outer once flipped for installation). You don't want it collecting sh!t...

The difference in thickness is theoricially big, in real life, it couldn't be any smaller, definitely a perfect fit with a bead of silicone.

I still gotta do the job for a 2nd gen sliding door and I'm NOT looking forward to it, everything needs to be shortened and re-trimmed/sculpted/carved for re-assembly :roll:

Hey all, giving this thread a little jump start with our Jalousie window retrofit. We managed to fit full size T2 Jalousie in both sides utilizing a sandwich method and some butyl tape. Works great!

So instead of glue you used butyl tape? Any other details?

Butyl tape and button head screws/nylock nuts. On the slider you have to drill through the original sheetmetal flange and do a slight amount of trimming so the window will fit. The butyl is kinda nasty to clean up, but so far so good. Don't have a link, it's pretty easy to find. We finished it last summer and it's been great. I can have some of the plates made if there's any interest.

I would need to know the more-or-less, general range, etc. of price to know if I was interested.

Here's mine.

This first pic was taken before installing the Westfalia style gasket.
It came out looking exactly like a factory Westfalia T2 Bus (both inside & outside) once it was finished, direct fit...

I should be able to take some better pics once it's all back together and finally cleaned up....
