He would have to give me that car plus $10K cash and would still get a rusty 21 or 23-window in return. A true euro '69 would have wrap around turn signals instead of bullets. That's a US Spec car.

What really frosts me is that these cars seem to fall into two categories: WAY overpriced, or priced right but the seller never, ever responds to Emails and/ or calls.

"Only 1 found in the USA and Europe!!"

I guess they didn't look very hard.

What the hell is this guy thinking?

I understand that these are not that easy to come by, but he is way off the mark.. I've bought three of these and none have been more than $125... and most would say that I over-payed!

OK, I just reread the whole ad because I still cant believe the price. After reading about all the "NOS" stuff and a beat up tranny I would like to change my bid to $3000 tops. Looks like it might have been hit too since the passenger fender is from a 68 69.

Its on Ebay now too with lotsof pics. This thing is a turd. Early, yes. Worth anything more than $3000? Nope.

I emailed this guy to ask if it was a typo as his other stuff was a bit high but not totally out of line. I told him the real value.

Especially since it doesn't say which one it is!

Is it me or is this the most overpriced Squareback anyone has ever seen..

http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=605716

He is claiming it's early.... its a '63!! Squarebacks started rolling off the assembly line in Dec of 1961.

Not to mention, the engine is hosed and the transmission needs replacing??

This a 1000.00 Squareback posted at 7 times its value.

1 rock of crack please, have it sent to Tucson with my compliments.

Anything pre N/S class is pretty much considered "early".
That said, everything "early" on that heap is pretty much destroyed. Even the "VOLKSWAGEN" hatch script is incorrect... the hatch must have been re- drilled for the late script.
