Could I = Yes
Do I want = No.
Why. On a wheel you're spending so much on.. I am of the thought there are so many styles of wheels able to fit.. I just need to find what fits..
I already paid $3,000.00 on a set of FIVE wheels..
They looked amazing.... but They were too far out in ET.. and chopped tires.
Sold those for 1,3000, a total 1,700 loss.. how many hours of my life wasted?
Yea.. tires I buy, wheels I buy, have to fit 0 question. |

Right - you're the guy that got screwed by Small Car...
Depending on the size of tire you want to run, you'll need a spacer anyway. My ET37 wheels with 205s fit without a spacer but the 225s rub on the upper control arm without one, so a spacer it is, for me.
With the spacers, the wheels and tires work very well in every way. ;) |

oh, it wasn't directly their fault or anyone but mine.. I didn't know installing that kit alters the base ET mounting point, which I think could be ehem... posted on the site or otherwise details provided..
..moving forward..
Hoping to find a nice lookin set soon.. I need to get my van outta storage.. :( |

Those look great. Thanks for posting. My buddy just picked up the San Diego's I was looking at a while back. I'll get some pics when they are mounted up.
As previously stated, I have 16 inch steel Tiguan wheels and I'm now shopping a brake upgrade. I know some of the kits aren't compatable with certain steel wheels, has anyone with Tiguan steelies upgraded their brakes? |

I have an 85 automatic 2wd westy.
I found these, they are Tiguan wheels and are 16X6.5 with an ET of 33. If I have read everything correctly, I think I need to machine them out to 66.56mm and a depth of 48mm and get some small ball lugs.
Am I correct?
I would like to do a brake update at some time in the future. Will most common upgrades fit in a 16 inch wheel?

You got it.
Brake upgrades should fit but where you run in to issues is that the kit sold by the standard suppliers isn't compatable with the uprights on your 85. Check out one of the big brake kits at gowesty or vancafe and read about what you need to fit the kits.
Great looking wheels! |

The wheels look great and thanks for the advice on the brake upgrade. I have read a bit more and like the G60 route, but nothing is straight forward on these things.
I got the rims and will post a picture on my wheels when I get the van out of storage in the spring.
cheers... |

I just got winter rims and tires for our new Tiguan from tire rack.com and the first thing I did was check to see if they would fit on the Westy . The centre hole is off by about 2 mm , looks like very easy machining job . They have a number of choices of wheels . |

Digging up a semi recent thread.
Just bought a set of Tiguan Baltimore rims
Was going to fit them to my Syncro and was wondering what I needed to bore out and how wide/deep I need to have them bored.
Cheers in advance |

Yes, you can use those wheels after you machine the center bore. You will be able to install the caps on the front but not the rear. |

Awesome thanks Christopher. By chance would any of your custom centrecaps work? Is the VW logo on your centrecaps similar? Also recommended lug nuts preferably closed? Links to which ones on your website? |
