Can you share any more details about how you fixed the nose and saved the OG paint please? I'd just like to know for future repairs to my '61 Mango.

thanks

I use either a football, soccer ball, or other misc. blow up devices. Deflate the ball of choice and place between the headlight support and nose "BRACE the headlight support with the method of your likeing, then slowly inflate the object of choice. This will slowlt start to pop the dent out, tapping around the dent with a bocdy hammer near the creases will help relieve the pressure and help ease the nose back into shape.
Here's a link to it being done

Hey everyone. I would like to add to this thread if I may. I was one of the previous bus owners that sold my bus to the company doing the Pacifico campaign. I'm glad I did also. Let me explain before you all shit on me about me selling MY bus. By the way, it is the 67 yellow and white Kombi with the baja bugs painted on it. The hideous one.

I received every penny I asked for with no haggling. In fact, the buyer made his decision to purchase just by pictures. Flew down and provided me with a cashiers check for the full amount. Many features of the bus were characteristics described on the "what I hate on a bus" thread. So the way I see it, if I had posted it in the Classified adds, it would immediately be added to the "bus whine" thread by many of the "haters". Plus I was asking more than what I purchased it for several years ago. I didn't want to mess around with nit pickers and low-ballers. The money I received helped pay my property tax (I live in SoCal) which was killing me, and also helped pay off some bills. I figure I would rather sell the bus than keep struggling with the tax payment (I was laid off awhile back).

So for those who want to talk shit about me for selling my bus to a corporate company, go ahead. I know everyone has their opinion. I got my cash and I'm good. And I would tell you to lick my nuts, but this isn't the rants.

your bus was named Isabella.
so out of 18 buses 3 previous owners have chirped in to the thread so far that we know of.are there any others out there?

I think the yellow one looks better now than it did before.

i agree, and while we might think the logos look stupid our parents (50-70 yr olds) would definately think thats "way cool" they might see a bus like say the "jiffy" bus and say "neat bus,it will look great after you restore it"

Wow, I didn't know there were that many in Spokane. :) Where were they hiding? I go over there a lot and have never seen a bus driving around at all.

I guess now I never will.

cdennisg Sat Aug 02, 2008 11:53 am

You could see some of them from the freeway if you looked at just the right time.

Agreed..

I always thought people who have yellow cars are "look at me"... "attention vampires." But now that it is used as an advertisement the yellow is justified because it's purpose is to attract as much attention as possible...for advertisement.

I thought people were bitching about selling an og paint bus to get painted. I thought people were saying they should have sold buses like the ugly yellow one to pacifico. Seems like a lot of people just don't get it...

Just yesterday some guy was checking out the bus at a convinence store and said "you need a surf board hanging out the back, that would look cool."

Don't worry, there are lots of places to look at along the lovely freeway in Spokane. There are also lots of buses that can't or won't be seen from anywhere. I should stop now.

Ok, so if I'm driving East on 90, do I look North or South? :D I need to start driving over there during daylight hours. :)

Cool bus pics everyone!
