Sorry, no photos of a '62 single cab, but here is the M-Code info:

It is currently has a 30 year old, dove blue-ish, Earl Schibe paint job. Someday, the cheap paint will be removed te reveal the original light grey. Hopefully.

I was actually thinking the white on the wheels but the bumpers look the same. I was wondering if it was Pearl white, guess not.

John, you are right, don't know how that happened but that seat has been in there since before 1967 and it is absolutely perfect in every way. The front and middle are perfect matching originals, no piping, grey, etc. As best I know the piping was from roughly 1962-1964 or somewhere close to that range. No idea why it's like that, must have been swapped at some point, obviously very early on.

piping began on commercial seats in early 62 (somewhere around december/january from the buses ive looked at)

that l345 kombi needs the mint 59-61 rear seat I have ;)

And, Jesus, look at the primer on the partition kick area...

Now, Tell me about the indents/and or holes/and or lack of holes for the mounting of interior panels. Did that bus ever have rear panels installed?
I'd like detail on how it looked from the factory with no panels.
I've seen one no-panel original kombi, and it had no holes, except on the doors, which were factory, AFAICT.
My '59's both got drilled with panels by previous owners over the years, so I'm keen to get the details.

Hi John- Thanks. As far as I know it never had any rear interior panels. I know that they had holes in the cargo doors for sure, I think that was just standard, regardless of model, so that all doors were "universal". Kind of like how they drilled all 1960 cargo door hinges with the holes for the cargo door wedge/covers but they only went on the front doors. We also have the "Egg Bus" over at the shop right now and it's the same as this Bus, holes, but no panels.
I'm going to leave the rear seat alone although Mark L had a perfect matching grey with no piping rear several years ago that he thought I might want to swap for. The only thing was there was some paint wear on the legs. The paint on the legs of the rear seat in there has absolutely no wear, thick as the day it was made.
I talked to Charlie at the June OCTO and he called me out about not having brought this Kombi out to a show yet so I've decided I'll bring it out by next June at the latest. Come on out and you can drive it if you want.

You mean both buses have holes on the interior for panels?
And I'm talking about the non-door part of the main center cargo section.

my bus has holes drilled on all the panels, including rear hatch. I am not 100% sure it had panels, although the guy who pulled it out of a field in '05 said it did (he thought it would be a good idea to pull ALL the panels out tearing them in the process, to 'restore' the bus)

And what I'm looking for is info on known, unmolested interiors.
