Carry on!

I love the JerFab car! And I'm not really doing it to be different...I am doing it because that's what I want, and I think it will look great when it's all done. I dont really have the same type of patina as Culito, OvalinAZ, or JerFab. (sun baked, faded) ((besides my roof)) so I dont think it's going to 'ruin' anything.

zombie wrote: If you buffed the car out instead of clearing it I think it'd give it a nice sheen without looking overkill. [/quote]

See, I've tried buffing this paint and it just didnt do it for me. Sure it was somewhat shiny..but not the same as clear would be. Plus I drive the car daily and have to park it outside, so I would be buffing it alot to keep up the sheen.

And as GhiaNut said, it's all about prep, materials, and how its done...and I can guarantee you this will be done right, with multiple coats, properly prepped.

All-in-all, it's going to be clear coated..so we will see what the turn-out is.
Personally...I cant wait.

Idk hater, you tell me.

Ghia Nut Wed Jul 27, 2011 12:05 pm

Sounds like its missing a bit, can't tell over your exhaust though

iVolkswagen Wed Jul 27, 2011 12:20 pm

Yeah i suppose it sounds like it a little, but it's probably the exhaust making it sound that way. It didn't do it when I had the quiet pack on it. The singer is temporary until I can afford a fatboy or equivilent.

Ghia Nut Wed Jul 27, 2011 5:55 pm

why are you going for a fat boy?? Looks, sound?

iVolkswagen Wed Jul 27, 2011 7:37 pm

A little of both. I'm open to suggestions though. :D

No, that was added for effect, but I am from the south as is iVolkswagen

Speaking of which, shouldn't you be making a video now

sovereignsamba Fri Jul 29, 2011 8:15 am

Becuase I didn't like the clear now I'm a hater? I'm just saying your timing or points seem a little off. You check the dwell? Idle sounds lean & choppy.

sovereignsamba Fri Jul 29, 2011 8:17 am

Idle jet is on the passenger side, right by the generator. Maybe throw some more fuel on it. Or plug your lean idle circut if you still have one.

iVolkswagen Fri Jul 29, 2011 8:20 am

Thanks man. But it really is a combination of the video audio (taken with cellphone) and the exhaust making it seem that way. It purrs like a kitten in real life and admittedly sounds alot cleaner running with the quiet pack or pea shooters. Thanks though man I'll still check it out to be sure.

sovereignsamba Fri Jul 29, 2011 8:29 am

Seemed to take a second of the rmps to come back down after revving, thats the only reason I thought it might be lean. & the 900+ rpms made me think you might like to know where the idel jet is. Just trying to help.

I'll mess with it tomorrow, and see if anything is off, and yes the circuit is plugged. Also the tach you're seeing isn't hooked up yet. :P
Thanks for your help, man

Great video loved the end wher u drive off. With the exhaust being so far behind the car is there a risk of someone driving into it or I guess it is low enough not to be damaged
