Smart guy however. That being said I found it kind of ironic that the end message was that you can't get out of debt unless you buy the patented Ramsey deluxe CD set with accompanying workbook vol 1-99. And you can't get out of the vicious consumer credit cycle without the Ramsey duffel bag, fanny pack, and velour seat covers. Also no debt free life is complete without the Ramsey deluxe sauna- don't let debt make you sweat, the Ramsey sauna is on the job! Only 43 monthly payments to get you on track to financial freedom. I'm exaggerating some but no joke people could not get their credit cards out fast enough to buy whatever kind of junk this guy was peddling.
That's funny because he does not accept credit cards, only debit!

Ok well maybe I was mistaken but I saw a lot of plastic flying. I'm all with his message but the idea of buying everything this guy sells seems backward to me. I know he's got to make a living and all so more power to him.

^^people will still do dumb stuff and he knows it, so he continues to get rich and capitalize but he warns you not to buy all the junk if you cant afford it

It is pretty repetitive but still entertaining.

I have heard a lot of what Jen described, people making what I consider a ton of money and they have more debt than my yearly salary. Damn, that is crazy... but it's all relative. Now let me go look at my back yard with cars that could almost pay off my house. LOL

Thats his point, folks wont get rich (or whatever you want to be-wealthy etc. you decide) if they invest in the wrong thing or are materialistic. He says pay off your house and forget the cars. Then put the rest of your money into investments that pay (yeah yeah barndoor...whatever) and over the long run you will be better off. For example sell your split beetle (should you be so lucky) and buy realestate (pay down debt for some). Rent it or flip it and make money. Then go get the car later. Most folks cant do that though. It takes discipline and lots of it. And at some point you should decide when enuf is enuf.

A while back a guy in the classifieds had a $5k beetle for sale with "take over the payments" this is the guy that needs Dave. If you have to go into debt for a $5k beetle and end up selling it at a loss-you are making bad choices with the money you do have.

Dave started out and made his money in realestate and not everyone is fit to do it though. Hes for the common man though and for the most part teaches the 101 level, as other experts tell you to leverage cash (cash is king afterall) and credit cards can help you do this, some folks cant control CC though so he says cut em up. Its hard to start out as a little guy and make big money without leveraging cash, you need velocity behind your money to get rich in your life time unless you strike it big like the ebay founder did. Im not rich yet though so I still listen to him, hes encouraging.

Yeah, the buying and selling of realestate has done wonders for the economy and investors portfolio's. Dave Ramsey = clueless douchebag.

Is that when he filed bankruptcy over the $4 million he owed the banks on his investment properties?

My wife usta listen to him when she had a longer drive home, I always thought the things she would come in raving about where a bit off, she HAD to buy his CD set for the computer? That computer has never been the same since

Then I got talked into going to one of his shows with her, at one of the big MEGA churches in town, around the parameter reminded me of a rock concert of old where you had vendors hawking all sorts of souvenirs. Then there where people shooting Dave Ramsey shirts of out of cannon, I thought people where going to kill for one of those?

He's just one of those people that figured out a way to make money and is using every angle to work it, with no real advice that common sense would apply to anyhow.

Thank God her drive is only 5 minutes now....

Just before services were to begin, Satan appeared at the altar in front of the entire congregation. Ten feet tall, horns, forked tail, breathing fire and with a smell of brimstone in the air, he let out a mighty roar. There were screams and panic as people fled from the church, climbing over each other in their haste to escape. Satan chuckles to himself, and then looks down at the front pew where an older gentleman calmly sat. Satan let out another might roar, but the man just sat there. Satan asked, “Don’t you know who I am?” The many coolly responded “You are Satan, master of all that is unholy.” Satan asked “Why aren’t you afraid of me?” The man answered, “Why should I be, I have been married to your sister for thirty years.”

Sorry, couldn’t resist!

Hmmm. I see what you are saying. But my point still is valid in that the whole real estate branch of the economy has led us into a downfall.

And I don't believe that buying and selling real estate is the foundation of America. America was founded upon sound principles, like hard work, managable debt, and fiscal conservatism. The buying and selling of real estate has always been a part of American history but it has often been a shady part. Trump is a perfect example of buying and selling real estate to become wealthy. Sure he's a great businessman, but in many eyes he's a slimeball.

I'd rather be poor and honest than rich and sleazy.

I'd rather be honest and rich. But sleazy does have its applications.
