Actually I am working on restoring a 356 B, redoing a 34 Vicky and building a 33 roadster. I need to find a good home for Rodbuster if someone is willing to pay my price, otherwise it can stay in its air conditioned secured enviornment. Pass the word if know any interested serious party. |

Actually only about 2% of them are anal and not serious. I have the most respect for users of this site and enjoy the shared interest we all have. |

Chris,
I am sure you don't remember me or my car, but in 1988 I was at a little car show in Oakland (GNRS) and there was a very nice Ghia displayed about 75feet from my Green M&M beetle...first place in subcompact custom ,thank you very much. I think that was the first show you had the car at? I was very surprised they put you down in the pit with the dregs....VWs never get the respect they deserve. I think I stood and looked at your car for about 45minutes.

The first 2 or 3 years I showed ISCA I ended up being in the back side of the shows until we won the Pacific Division with Rodbuster. Thereafter were given the respect due us. I was expecially proud to be at the front area of Blackies Show on my last showing of Rodbuster. When we went out of the state and country we where most always shown the respect we earned. We had to pioneer in those days to show that a VW can compete against Detroit iron and even teach them a few things.
I do remember you car.
Thanks for post. :D |

For those interested we still have Rodbuster for sale, the price has went up due to inflation and the economy. Just sold our 57 356 Cab to a person in Europe. It was picked up last month, on to a new home. |

Sorry to say I had the time to read all 14 pages, but it kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time.
I linked on from the for sale info from another VW site and knew right then what the car was and HAD to sit and read thru. Took me back to the old days
when the car show's were HUGE like the hair, guess things go full circle.
Best of luck on future builds.
BTW, the comment and photo about the BAJA (body sitting just above chassis) caught my attention. :D

Stumbled across this and was just in awe once again! Growing up in Bakersfield and living and breathing VW's for a good chunk of my misspent youth (Worked off and on for the Bugg Inn and a few other places) I remember this car and the club quite well. (Including the christmas party where Chris took the tail lights from my old 73 fastback as his white elephant gift. I wound up with a radiator cap.)
Awesome to see the car again and that it's still alive and well.
What ever became of Infrared Ghia? |

Hi
Still have Rodbuster and Infrared. Both have been in mothballs for the last decade except we restored Rodbuster recently. Infrared is for sale at $27500. I keep it in a locked garage with alarms and video survalence. When I look at it sometime its like a time warp. If you know anyone interested let me know.

Got any pictures of Infrared that you could post? :D
Glad to hear you're still around and still in the VW scene. Out of curiosity, is Daniel's still in business? I know Scotty sold the land to the fast trip on the corner while I was still living there.
I'm going to have to take a trip home one of these days. Hope the smog doesn't kill me! :D
