I have a mild custom 67 sedan, and was looking for input on what engine combo would get me into performance similar to modern compact cars. I believe that 85-100hp would net a respectable (fun!) hp/wt ratio. Here's what I have to start with: Complete 1972 ghia engine torn down, looks like very little wear (ws running, bad oil leak though). I also have a set of Italian ICT's which appear never to have been installed. I don't plan on racing or beating the car, just getting a noticable "seat of the pants" improvement for my efforts while maintaining good fuel economy and reliability. Thanks. |

I agree, if he plans on utilizing those carbs.Any bigger of an engine and the carbs would be too limiting.
If your willing to think bigger on the carbs,it would open different avenues for you. |

Thanks for the input, but I was looking for a bit more specific information. For example: Cam, crank, rockers, heads, bolt on components etc... Additionaly what part combinations would lean toward the upper or lower end of the desired performance spectrum? |

Maybe start here or use the search feature on the Samba. There are allot of threads covering this very topic.
