I don't know the reason why you decide to sell it.
But I sure hope you change your mind Tim!

AlanInMass54 Sun Feb 09, 2014 9:01 am

What a bummer! I hope you keep it as well. Has something else come along? Hope all is ok there.

tlambert Mon Feb 10, 2014 9:27 am

It didn't last long, pending now.

I hate to see you let it go Tim. The work you have done to it was fantastic.

JDGas Mon Feb 10, 2014 10:06 am

$3500 is a deal, with all that is included and you know the metal work was done right!

Tim all the best to you!
I hope you kept that beautiful big M you restored. If so, build a wooden case for it and keep it forever! :)

All the best for the future, Tim.

Tim sir, you are a dying breed, we are in this "disposable" world and it sucks. What you have done here is nothing short of amazing.

All people want to do now a days is throw away and replace - watching you breathe new life into this VW gives me hope.

You have great fab and metal skills - I dread the future when the up and coming generations don't have shit for skills.

Im going to stay tuned - hopefully you keep this thread rolling til that Bug is rolling!

Hate to break it to you but that day came about 20 years ago. The skills of todays youth are computer based, without it they cannot troubleshoot a problem or base something on their own opinion. Most people in their twenties dont have basic life skills let alone a trade skill.

I kindly disagree here there is a small percentage still gravitating to these skills that are being passed along from their elders....youre right to an extent though, 20 years ago is close but I guess I meant I dread when these talents are completely dead.....

Did he sell??

Wow, just got through this entire thread. Hope all is well, and he just found a even more awesome project! Definitely raised the bar for our '55 build, thank you for the inspiration.

It looks like a very solid car if it's spent it's life in Ohio.

I just read thru this whole thread and I must say, I certainly miss Flyertim.

Damn, what an anticlimax! I was hoping to see it all the way to tackling the mechanicals.

I was doing generic Google searches on Vanagon floor rust and happened to find a Samba link to this thread--- holy mackerel how incredibly helpful this has been. Spurred me to get a set of hammers and dollies and learn how to use them.

Tim seems to have flown away from Samba altogether--- what a shame.
