Heyday for the Road Warrior, 1980 travelling across the country with my 20 year-old girlfriend, I was 21 years old. Car had 111,000 miles on it when we started and 116,000 at the end. We had a fine time exploring the country and . . . everything.

MY 1969 Transporter, Picture taken circa 1975. Took that bus to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Drove it for 3 1/2 years. Never had any problems and was the perfect vehicle to have down there.Sold it to a fellow sailor when I transferred and never saw it again, might still be down there for all I know.Wish I still had it.

1979, just bought the 68 Bus, in the color scheme I bought it. That is me with my back to the camera and other family members and family dogs.
Later in 1982, just before I had it all painted white. |
