Heyday for the Road Warrior, 1980 travelling across the country with my 20 year-old girlfriend, I was 21 years old. Car had 111,000 miles on it when we started and 116,000 at the end. We had a fine time exploring the country and . . . everything.

Here is my families bus known as the Super Pickle while on vacation in copper mountain, co in the mid 80's. Sure do miss that bus.

MY 1969 Transporter, Picture taken circa 1975. Took that bus to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Drove it for 3 1/2 years. Never had any problems and was the perfect vehicle to have down there.Sold it to a fellow sailor when I transferred and never saw it again, might still be down there for all I know.Wish I still had it.

1979, just bought the 68 Bus, in the color scheme I bought it. That is me with my back to the camera and other family members and family dogs.

Later in 1982, just before I had it all painted white.
