so....where to begin....

i leave edmonds around 10am on july 4th. i decided to take my time getting to ellensburg from edmonds, so i took HWY 2 and HWY 97 over stevens and then Blewitt Pass. at the top of blewitt, i take a left head through a sno-park and end up in ellensburg about 3 hours later. life was good! 8)

on this trip, i found my first vanagon friend parked at the top of Blewitt, and later found a second one. here i aired down for once from 60/50 psi to 35 rear 25 front. made the ride MUCH smoother....

started my trek up the mountainside and stopped here to get a few pics....

as i was going up the mountain, and neared the top, i noticed a little spot to pull off the road and right over the edge of the cliff....so i pulled right up to the edge and took a few pictures :)

this was about a 800 foot drop off behind the bus....and i was about 3 feet from the edge. luckily, i JUST got my emergency brake working reliably................

so i keep going and get a few more shots up on the cliff..... in a few different places...

had that second vanagon owner hold the camera for me on this one...thank you very much!! :D

continueing onward...i managed to bend my sway bar on a flat road....yeah....i really do live up to my name. i go a little excited and was going about 50 and hit a dip and the bus took a hard nose dive into the dirt....thought for sure i broke something in half by the noise. later i looped my tow rope around the sway bar and backed up away from a telephone pole and bent it back out far enough i can drive it normally again. :D

(note in previous picture the scrape in the dirt and the spot right in front of me...thats where i hit....

and from here, i got to ellensburg, connected with my parents and got to go fishing with dad....but you can read more about that in stickys thread

Nice to see more photos of your adventure, but man I think you need a vehicle that can stand up to the abuse, like a nice Unimog or something! :wink:

actually saw a unimog on the trip coming over HWY 2....to quick to take a picture!

i will get a syncro and restore/mod (offroad look) this one someday in my life...i wont ever sell this bay so itll be around! ...just waiting on the money to start rolling in :roll:
