The show "ramps up" throughout the day on Friday. I know the BBT caravan doesn't get there usually until mid/later afternoon. You won't miss anything if you just come Sat.... unless you are a swap meet hawk and want to scope out the goods early. In that case, you'll want to go Friday. But not all the cars will be there on the show field Friday.

I started a "Who's going to BC & Euro Bug-in from the U.S."

The last time I missed the samba appointment due to talking and looking around.
It would be nice to get remembered this time if someone who knows me crosses my ways earlier that day.

Yesterday I drove up to Bad Camberg to make the roadbook for the BBT convoy to the mother of all VW shows.
Never I was that long on the way for this 350 km trip like I was yesterday, most legs we drove double, and several even triple to make sure all was clear and easy to follow. I want only the best for our 4 yearly pelgrimage.
We decided to follow the borders of the river Rhine from Bonn to Linz and from there we will drive inland and cross the "Westerwald" one may call that a piece of unspoiled Germany. Can You imagine You crossing in your vintage Volkswagen one of the many little towns like this down the road? with tons of vintage Volkswagen machinery before and after You? I smell our convoy already in the air, hmmmmm

Te showgrounds where still a little empty, a little? no, complete empty, nothing would say this will be the Volkswagen walhalla of planet earth just in 18 days from now.. yesterday it was just "us".... the early birds, try to beat us next time!

Meeting up with Michaël and Biggy Lottermann was part of the trip and they revealed the news to me that besides the Grundmanns VW 38 also the Berlin Rome race car from Prototyp museum in Hamburg will be on display, freshly finished...

this car, only one of three build and one of two survivors, can be easily called grandfather of all our Volkswagens... another reason not to miss out Bad Camberg 2011 edition, as this is a unique opportunity to see this car with exteme high "wawh" factor in the flesh, on a Volkswagen show! And this is also the reason Bad Camberg is and stays the Mother of all VW shows!

Are You fancy to drive along with your car in the BBT convoy? Our registration is still open, just start here;
http://blog.bbt4vw.com/2011/06/06/road-book-to-bad-camberg-the-making-off/

See You on BBT open house June 23 from 3.00 till 9.00pm or on the BBT Convoy drivers meeting Friday june 24 8.30am... both open to all VW lovers!

innovate, don't duplicate to keep your vintage Volkswagen faith!

Hi Bob,

I'd probably join your convoy in Germany, as i live between Aachen and Cologne I guess you will likely drive along there.
Where do you cross the border and where do you leave the German Autobahn.
Do you have rough opinion when you will arrive in Germany, I think around somewhere around 12°°.

Cheers, Marcus

To Marcus... we will be around 11.00am rolling in on the A4 rasthoff "Aachnerland" I suppose, maybe would be good to hook on from there?

We will miss the trip this time to Bad Camberg. :( Family matters are keeping us in California this year. To Bob and all the convoy, have a great trip through some of the most beautiful country in the world. And we'll look forward to seeing all of you either here in the states, or the next time we travel to Europe.
