..at least I *think* it is, I know the dimpled shift knob, mushroom air cleaner, D regulator, short shock front end, and some other bits make it an early pan and engine... I'll get chassis numbers when I get back over there... It's in a barn in Northern CA, that's all I'll say for now 8)

I can pick it up on Friday....just send me directions. :D

Eric, that's kinda what I figured.. the guy said he knows it's been in there since he moved into the house in 1952, it was there in the barn then...
I's not mine, I am "negotiating" with the guy right now... I have a few more photos, but no Chassis # yet, and it might be a little while before I can get back over there and get it.

That steering wheel is really early...I'd be on that barn like American Pickers!...if you need a truck ,trailer, and a place in sacramento to store it let me know..LOL

Dave Mon May 17, 2010 12:59 pm

Thanks, but the tires still hold air, and I have a tow bar and towing lights....... 8)

Just don't turn it into one of those "dracula bugs" lmao

Dave Mon May 17, 2010 1:22 pm

My old Bug is for sale right now, or at least the parts he hadn't already parted out, like the engine, front end with Wilwood disc brakes, etc...

Yes, don“t wait too long. Try to get it asap.
If an owner made the decision to let it go, it will go.
To you or who ever.
The steering wheel and the aircleaner look really early.
The coil location looks post war but that might had been changed later.

Most there is pre 50s but the steering wheel and the aircleaner look barely 40s.

kdf38 Mon May 17, 2010 3:45 pm

The steering wheel looks like it's from a tractor.
