Just an update, I went to look for Jade green, non exsitant any longer.neither is battleship.

bought some krylon cherry red like pictured above. Close but not as deep as true l456 ruby red

Pic is of unfaded L456 that has been behind a door panel for 47 years.

It is a little more red than the ruby

I went and did a comparison with a small piece and the roof (good clean paint) and it looks right to me. My fiancée told me it doesn't match, and derluftwagen confirms. I guess I'm a little color blind... Sorry guys.

I was just at Lowes and they had JADE GREEN in a satin, but not a gloss in the standard Krylon.

hmmm.........thats FL. dayum Im in CA....as far as krylon goes its not (as far as I can see) on there website...bimbw<but i might be wrong?

Snoop Bob Thu Jul 15, 2010 11:57 am

The website may be ahead or behind. If you have a shiny bus it won't do much good, although I guess you could clear it. My Lowes seems to have a good selection of Krylon colors. The competition Home Depot, does not have as much in Krylon.

Bob thats kind of ironic, LOL on the krylon website, they mention Homedepot as a supplier but not Lowes....
I did buy krylon dover white, very very close to WW silver white, and it sprays very nice taboot. IM a fan of krylon

I just picked up a can of Dover an hr ago for my wheels what are you using for primer being this is that plastic Fusion stuff. Are you using flat white Krylon? I got mine at R & S Strauss and they said they aren't going to carry Krylon any more at that store.

I personally prepped my wheels after cleaning with an etching primer from pep boys ..green stuff... a few coats a lil at a time, then I primed..and did about 3 or coats of krylon..take yer time and apply small coats at a time.... I sprayed the backside/inner wheel of the wheel with a semi gloss black...I then put on the hubcap clips

I decided to experiment by adhering to the label's direction to forgo the primer. Straight over clean metal it went.

We'll see how long this lasts

WalMart is where I got my fusion Dover White after not finding it in Home Depot or Lowe's.
They had a much larger selection of colors....

Not a Krylon color, but maybe it will help someone...I have used Rust-Oleum Painter's Touch Gloss Ivory Bisque as a very good match for L 282 (42) Lotus White. And when I had trouble finding it, I also used Painter's Touch Heirloom White Satin with good results.

hmmmm, my bus is actually a semi-gloss / satin finish...off to Lowes tomorrow

I'll add one other point. The fusion line of paints is the easiest spray bomb paint I've ever used. It lays really evenly and is very resistant to sagging and running. From what I've found, it's only branded as a "plastic" paint because of the adhesion promotion additives.

I just painted my backing plates with regular old Rustoleum black and it was HORRIBLE to use compared to the Krylon Fusion brand.

They also had something that looked close to Turkis right under the Jade Green, but I forget the name.
