a show on the weekend before, or after might work, could be called good camerg
that would give folk achance to attend both, a bigger showing, and attendance of the rustier VW's over the shiny one's might be enough to make all welcome another year :D |

How about cover the rats in vinyl, like they did many shows back with the Lotterman Barn?

my car was in hessisch 2009 but is not allowed for the camberg show
isn´t there a field or something else near the camberg show, where we can park the rats/ cars they do not want on the showground? |

There's a small parking lot right next to the showground
http://maps.google.de/?ie=UTF8&ll=50.296421,8.265184&spn=0.00127,0.003422&t=h&z=19
But this is usually pretty packed during the Camberg show, as it is also the parking lot of the public swimming pool. |

It is not about the paint or the finish - it is about the wheels, the muffler and the height. It is all in the rules on the show website. |

I know , but rest of car is amazing and if owner doesnt want to change for example muffler only because of one show it shame to see 100 restored splits and not one in OG paint with beautiful patina ... |

the rims are period stuff, maybe the slamjob is a bit massive but otherwise?? the split will get a 25hp engine with judson and abarth 4 tipp muffler this winter, and except one semaphore that was changed the car has all og panels and parts on it, same parts as when it left the factory in 1951. I think there are not many cars in camberg that have the og factory installed fenders, headlight, taillights, lids, doors.................on the body |

I'd love to see an unrestored car like this on the showground. But this all doesn't help since its the organisers decision which cars they accept and which not. And if they say no slam jobs then it's no slam jobs ... Couldn't you raise your split to stock height for the show? Maybe put some og stock rims on? Why not?

@oval56: But the rules say also that the cars should be able to get a German vintage car H-registration, which is not so really possible with a slam job. At least if we follow the official TÜV requirements, even though we all now that there are enough cars with H-Plate and lowering .... .... |

honestly, WHY should we do a meetup next to the show? so all "rat" lovers or lets call them "the most original cars with style" lovers will also hit there show. all of them should beware to visit there show.
we should make a show on the same date elsewhere in germany, called RAT-Camberg, like thomass said..
i´m pretty pissed about there desission, because it is quite ridiculous.. cars like this are more original then most of the ones who will be allowed to show on there showfield.
i mean andi´s heb normaly wouldn´t get it on also.. so how many original hebs will hit that show?, how many original splits? how many bd? ok, expect the 50lucky beggar..
whats about his?
would be intersting to see.. i don´t see any historical licenceplate :?
ok.. it´s there show, but i don´t realy get the point? i mean its not like someone with his mexican bug will entering the showfield.. |

the BC team makes the rules, that is ok for me, it is also ok for me that they did not allow my car, for me it is more important to ask if there is a chance for people who come to BC with a rat or non registered car to park the car on a field where all the other rats and non allowed cars could be parked, that would be cool.
no stress at all, just the registered cars on the showground, and the no registered somewhere else but in the near of the main show, so that people, who visit the show could have the chance to see both car styles....... 8) |

i like the idea, but they don´t want to have "us" there.
why make them a alternative for there showvisitors to see something more and make it more attractiv. :?:
if they don´t want us there, then all of us should do a own "show". enough of us also have some rarparts to show up.. why not do parking with own jump sale next to your ride? |

x2 stick some stock wheels on it, raise it back up to where it should be and get it down there ! Stock unrestored cars are the best ;-) |

This seems like the perfect time to prove that your lowered Bus can be put back to stock in 1 day (or a weekend).
I see people saying that all the time. :) |

Sometimes you loose - sometimes the other ones are the winner. I can not understand this discussion. The Lottermann-Meeting is worldwide known as the Mekka for the real vintage and stock Volkswagen. It is their descission who can be participant to their show and who is not. If you remember the Soccerfield of Bad Camberg and the City araound, you know that the number of participants should be limited. It is not a good style to post pictures and discuss why the cars are welcome and otherones not.
When I remember Bad Camberg 2007, I remeber a bad rainy weather, drunken outlaws in front of their rusty Splitties and broken beerbottles everywhere on the field. The spirit of Bad Camberg, which the Lottermann's and the participants managed was gone. And these points are remembered by many participants if you read the discussions in Internet from 2007.
We all have to think about, why Bad Camberg is so popular and holy. Because of the stictly vintage Volkswagen. If there is no reglement, it would be the same like Hannover or Budel. And not the Mekka for all the vintage Volkswagenfans of the World.
As Andi wrote - organize a regular historical Registration for your car and everything will be fine. |
