What ignition wires / plug wires do you use and why?

I use Taylor 10.4 Thunder cables. These wires are definitely not needed and doesnt do the job anybetter than the normal Bosch silicone wound or 8mm types for normally stock type ignitions ( blue coil, mechanical distributor set ups). Only difference is it dresses up my engines nicely and is just a personal choice. I would only install this type of wires on my own engines as preference or request of a customer.
Once you start going MSD and some electronic set ups, you should follow the suggested manufacturers recommendation on wires/plugs. Plugs I use Denso's currently in my big engine and am now making the switch to Bosch's. Np with the Denso's, the Bosch have become easier for me to attain.

Bosch wires, and NGK plugs, because they are a rock solid product, and they are all I need.

For higher compression engines, or for the neophyte that wants to weld the air-fuel mixture, high energy ignitions can help out, which will warrant more wirepower and a bit of increased plug gap.

Bosch 09001 7mm silicone because they're all you need unless you have a monster drag race engine

MSD on my Monster Drag Motor :lol: Stock type black ones on all the rest,Just stay clear of them "Purdy" colored ones=Junk,A custmer brought his own wires to me the other day and they fit good and were the stock type, he said Advance Auto had them in stock 8)

Bosch wires for a Ford Escort, because I have the ignition system from that car. :lol: For plugs, I use Champion copper, I forget which heat range.

I use the MSD 8.5 super conductors, cause they go with the rest of the ignition system in the car.

The plugs are bosch.

Taylor 409 race wires. They look huge and are Taylor so I know the quality is there. Always used the gray Bosch before that. Never had a problem.

Bosch 09001 for 99.9% applications. MSD and distributor less ignition are the exceptions.

NGK plugs. I was using 8.5mm Magnecores, but they degraded significantly after about 10K miles. Currently using a set of 8.5mm MSD wires.

What?.....No one is runnin those purdy wire braid covered ones with the ground wire? I hear those are the best money can buy if you don't mind throwing your money down the sewer. :lol:

Nology? I ran them on my 16v and they were nice. But on a basic ACVW they are a waste of money.

Nology makes a good quality ignition wire. I have never used a set from them, but I know the quality is great.

You can use a High Powered ignition and get by fine with "cheaper" wires if you keep the plug gaps ~.030". Using big gaps causes way more problems than it solves, and over-stresses the secondary ignition.

Bosch wires, they have a lifetime warranty :-D

Bigger gaps also depend on the spark plug used or the prep of the plug. In one of my pics in my link site there is a Jacobs coil in the background. I always liked their stuff (especially the coils). Unfortunately, that one has suffered a crack.....damn! I epoxied it but it still leaks a little. Never ever had a failed Jacobs wire.

msd 8.5 mm wires, superconductor. cause i have all msd ignition system .
bosch spark plugs.
