I think we'd all like to see more of that. :)

You could start your own topic on the subject if you like...original details are invaluable to anyone doing a period restoration.

Was invited to the Palace today, parked the car on the Mall

Felt like royalty myself as people kept on stopping and taking pictures of the old girl (the car I mean not the queen)

I miss this car, she was a blast to drive. She still is looking great though.

I got this gal about a year ago. Chassis number says it's a february or March '60 but the motor looks like it's a November '59. Anyone have opinions if it could be the original motor?

That's possible but the only sure way is to send off for the car's birth certificate.

Thanks for the reply. Yet another reason to get that costly piece of paper.

Mine's a '59 mfg for '60 model year. It was in Oregon, now resides in North Norfolk, UK.

Did you do the RDH conversion? Looks very tidy. :)

Personally I like to see the chrome side trim and beauty rings...necessary detail on a blank canvas. Coming shortly??

DanUK Tue Jun 02, 2015 6:42 am

It is a conversion, but also a bit messy. The glove box backing isn't great really! The original dash was used as a donor for all the significant parts aside from the glove box area.

We went just a little bit cal look with thicker windshield rubbers, no pipes on the bumpers.. and with the pale white the side trim stripes left off seemed to look better to me!

Which are the beauty rings you are referring to ?
