I was extremely honored when he asked me if he could an article on my single cab. Of course I agreed and much to my surprise, the article below appeared in the August 2006 issue of HVW Magazine.

I realize this thread is for original owners but since dgsaz posted up I feel this stuff will be interesting. I bought this bus 20 years ago from the original owner that kept every receipt and related items. I don't have the visor literature.

The window sticker with what you see when you got inside at the dealer. I thought it interesting that "push out windows" were only $26.50 more. What is M-code 179?

The original sales slip.

Warranty stamp pages from glove box manual rear. He stopped at 6000 miles in the book I guess because that was all that was free.

I guess hitting stuff in the road was common back then as he had the front end repaired at only 1300 miles. They even sold him a used tie rod end.

Of course he added scoops two years later.

I hope it's ok to post up this stuff in your thread, LAGrunthaner.

If I read that right they put a used tie rod on a Bus 3 weeks old after it was sold new?

And he got charged underseal for a Bus in CA?

I'll guess a loose part, no labour.

It was a dark era of auto sales, indeed.

Ok, that makes sense.
He got charged labor too, that's the first page of the receipt above for $21.31
(This probably isn't super obvious)

The labour is on the first receipt invoice 26773. Underseal was common in SoCal.

Could M179 be cut wheel well?

Good question, it looks like they just wrote that on there though?
M179 is not in the M-code list.
