I've been doing a video log on the restoration of my 72 Fastback for the last year or so on you tube. Thought I would share some of them here. My first car. Dad bought it new in Oct of 72 when I was in Kindergarten. It was given to me when I started to drive. I took a lot of raging from my friends in high school for driving that car but but the more people made fun of it the more I liked it that's the way I am( I live in Alabama where muscle cars and pick-ups are king) . It was the car I learned how to drive on it. Me and my wife dated in it. Now it is time for me to restore it and share it with my kids and students.

Yes it is. It was one I found in a junk yard about 50 miles from where I live last year. Called about it a week later for someone who needed the headlights off it for his but they had already sent it to the crusher
The guy said he had it for 20 years and only sold a few parts off it and since he haled it off I was the 3rd person to call about it. Thanks for the good commits guys. Hope to have more progress to report on it after school starts back in August.

Very neat. I will never forget auto shop in high school, too bad it doesn't exist anymore. I was driving my 71 SB at that time. Teach those kids good.

Hey thanks. I drove this very car when I took auto mechanics at this same school when I was a student. Now I am blessed to teach this class. I guess you could say I am the MR Kotter of Auto mechanics. Sad that so many of these classed are dying off.

Looks good Dennis. See if you can get them to shoot some epoxy into the engine air intakes, since you still have it open.

lol I was just thinking the same thing as I was reading this thread but more along the lines of epoxy in every cavity.

That would be a project in itself :)

Yes it would, as you'd have to clean every surface that you want the epoxy to stick to. I mainly try to get where I can, and on the back side of any and all patch panels (before they get welded on).

Yes I will try to get that done. Its still solid there rust wise so would like to keep it that way.
