would there be any big difference iof i were to use these 2 cams in a stock 1600 motor?
reason i am asking is because my son dropped the only stock cam I have and it broke into 2, so i have to buy a cam anyway.
am i just wasting my time and better off to buy another stock cam?
motor will just be a stock 1600, new KS 85.5 pistons, stock crank, rods full flowed, mildly ported stock heads, dual 36 DRLAs. lightweight bug, stock ratios.
daily driver for my son. |

yes there will be a huge difference.
especially if you use them both
seriously though: the 100 has a great low end. the only thing i didn't like about mine was the not as smooth as stock idle. |

If you are going to use dual carbs and an extractor exhaust, you certainly would benefit from using a bigger camshaft. The dual carbs would make it idle as smooth or smoother than stock with either cam you mentioned.
Don't forget the HD rocker shafts and single HD valve springs. |

After dropping the original cam and breaking it in two his son doesn't rate either of those cams.

So the son drops the cam and it breaks. Sounds like he did your engine a favor. |

ok . 110 it is.
can i stick with the stock compression? or do i need to bump it up?
with this cam in a stocker like this, what sort of RPM range i should be looking at? 5K? |

tighten the deck height to .040" and run it. |

This assumes there is no step in the head. If so remove the step as well. Total deck = distance from top of piston to flat area in combustion chamber. Alot of people just measure distance from top of piston to top of cylinder at TDC. |

yes. stock 34PICT3 and 8.0 compression in a bus.
it pulled strong but I shoulda used a counterweighted crank.
it beat itself to death in about 60,000 miles. |

Spencer,
what part of "Dual 36 DRLAs with lightly ported heads" is "stock"? |

This CB Cheater Cam. Is it the Eagle 2235? If so... damn!
I picked the 2235 in an attempt to not over-cam my 1776 build. Collector exhaust, Weber Progressive carb, 35.5/32 heads with cleaned up ports. |

The cb cheater is the #2280
It is for a idle-4000 rpm range
If an engine has a better intake and you don't need torque down to idle, then might as well use a more radical cam. I believe the progressive is a rather large carb, so you might as well use a too big cam, that way it matches! |
