Good day,

I been posting an issue with my 40mm webers. The thing is 3 and 4 side will not respond with a/f mixture screws.

I was reading the Weber book for the (I lost count) and came across a topic where it says that if the throttle plate is over the prog. holes, they will take over and the mixture screws will not respond.

Upon cleaning I took out the plates and put them back on so they won't bind or jam with the weber wall.

Can this be my problem? Is there a special process of installation of these throttle plates?

MHarney, if your're out there, what do you think?

Thanks to all.

Putting them back in is a matter of alignment, and making sure you put them back in the bore they came from. Small alignment errors tend to mean closure problems and significant differences in air flow at shallow throttle positions.

The more your carburetors are into progression, the less responsive the mixture screws become, but they shouldn't be non responsive unless you are WAY into progression. When you back the speed screw out so it does not touch, the plates should cover all the holes, and rest over the top of the bottom one, closing it off.
