1915, Engle 120 Cam, Stock heads and 34 Pict 3 carb
The valve cover vents are blocked off with caps and the caps held on with hose clamps.
This does not seem right to me. What is the proper way that this should be done?
Should I have the valve covers vented or not? |

If you don't need them vented... leave them alone. |

You have a 120 cam so you are going to spin the motor. Vent the right side cover. If the vent tubes are threaded into the valve cover, you can buy a pipe plug to fill the hole instead of the capped tube on the left side. Clean hte threads in the cover good and loc-tite the plug in

Not sure how much spinning it will do.

Here is what I found when I jacked it up. There is a lot less leaking than I was expecting. It puddles a little in the garage, but I do not see anything excessive under the car.
I am guessing you only need to vent if you have a problem with leaking? |

Aren't there some tins missing from the bottom of the cylinders? Wouldn't they affect cooling? |

Yes, the under cylinder or "sled" tins are missing and they affect cooling.
They probably left them off because of the way the j-tubes are routed. |

Ya, guess I missed the heads and carb size. You'll be fine without them if you don't want to. You'll run out of air before rpms......
