It looks like a spark plug wire bracket from a Type 3 but a little bent up

Not the clearest photo but

Hey all.

What’s this hose for? I’m looking at a car which has a port for it on the engine but the hose is not there.

Thanks!

Should have a tube underneath that will suck warm air from under the 1-2 cylinders.

Part number 113-129-511. D or E

Thanks so much for the reply.

Where does it send the warm air, and what doesn’t work if it’s missing?

Edit: looks like it’s a pre-heating tube. Sends warm air to the air cleaner to preheat the air being drawn in. Does that sound right?

Edit: and then i found this!!!

Thanks for giving me a direction to go.

Thanks!

OK, you found it. However yours would use a bigger tube than the one in the 66 thread.

I need help identifying these parts. Looks like the glovebox lid is ghia, but not sure what years. The housing looks to be the same color as the lid so I’m assuming it’s also ghia? But not sure what it is since I’m not too knowledgeable with ghias. Please help me out. I’m also looking to sell these so that’s why I am asking.

I have been searching far and wide to find a special seal...
My KG is a1968 Coupe but I know it's on most other years as well.
The seals go on each side of the engine bay floor against the body and are about 4 inches long. There's about a 1/4 inch gap between the engine bay floor and the body and these seals go in the gap.. I am including some photos for reference.. The first two photos are a side shot that shows the shape better.
Hopefully someone can identify it and let me know where I can obtain it from....
Thank you!

This seal has the same profile as the inner guard to nose as well as the mud splash panel in the back of the front guard.

Hi folks, any ideas what these two parts are?

The black plastic box looks like a cover box for something. It's got a couple little metal tabs on the sides that look like they'd hook into some slots somewhere.

And the little canister thing with the wingnut on it is connected to a hose that is open on one end and on the other end caped off with that eyelet fastener.

Grateful for any ideas! Thanks!

Edit: I'm pretty sure the hose with the canister and the eyelet ring was part of an old Eberspächer gas heater that was once installed in this ghia.

Hey everyone.

What is this?

It’s in a 1971 Ghia. I have a 1970 parts car and it does not have one…. Doesn’t mean it didn’t at one time. Part of a vapour recovery system? Emissions?

Ultimately I’d like to remove it. My trunk smells like gas and I’m trying to figure out what to fix. I’ll start with couplings and seals and such but I’m curious if I need this?

Thanks.

Craig

It’s the evaporation canister. Part of the early emission control system. There should be a charcoal canister in the engine compartment.
You can remove them if you wish. They’ll have no effect on your fuel smell. Usually, the smell comes the filler tube and old cracked breather lines and fuel lines.
If you do decide to remove it, do so carefully and sell it or give it away in the classifieds here. There are people looking for them for restoration purposes.

I’ll make sure it finds a good home.
