I have decided to go ahead to post this up. Found this through idaho volkswagen club and got the body for a good price. Solid nearly no rust.. Few weeks later i was able to get an early 58 pan with clear title for this body. Goal? well just to fix it up, restore the chassis and gather all the missing parts for this 58. I am still trying to decide on the motor if i should get a 36hp or just get a bigger motor. Anyways pics.

Thanks ill post more pics of the progress since i got it the day before christmas. As for motor, i would rather just buy a new/ rebuilt motor because im tired of collecting parts from previous rebuild and just would like to buy and install easily. |

Hey, I was curious if you know the story as to why your 58 was missing the pan. The car looks straight and clean. Did the po use it for a buggy or something? |

More pics of what i have done.
My pan
I will patch it soon when i find a donor section.
I will need to weld this up
Decklid is off the car now and heres why
i have a nice donor later model decklid to preserve this decklid.
wiring.
I hate butt connectors. They are ugly and my problem with the wirings are they are short or hacked.
Thanks to PO that i bought the pan from, he had some nice wire harness from 58 but not perfect.
one is for the speedometer (blue) brakes light ( black red) Headlight low, high beam black and white. Last white and black thin wire for parking light.
messes i made
cleaner and nicer
Better.
Headlight wires were burned up as well so i replaced that as well.
More to come. |

Parts i got for the 58
it is fixable and requires some time to fix.
radio delete plate
Cleaned up the trunk
Speedometer
fixing up to replace the gels and see if the inside is good.
notice the scratch by the turn signal arrows? It was there when i got it and will paint it with some touch ups later. The inside looks great so i didnt bother to take the whole thing apart.
Ending results and i need to find a kit to clean the glass because of the stain. Does anyone know where i can get a kit to clean this?
Thats all i have for now. |

I just got these. They were only 1 mile away from me...
I will keep these til i can afford to get them custom made. I bought a new set of seat covers with door panels for a good price. The color is blue with black piping. |
