As far as I know most of the hotels in and around HO are booked out now. But in the cities of Hamelin and Rinteln, which is 1/4- hour far from HO by bug there might be a chance. The Tourist-office of Hessisch Oldendorf might can help you to find some rooms:

I stayed at the camping in 2009. Its a nice place to be, with many nuts and cars around you :)

Anyone familiar with the website/Rail Line that I could get train fare from Antwerp/Brasschat (where BBT Bob's place is) to Amsterdam? I had to play games with reward points/frequent flyer programs and had to buy two one way tickets. I found much better flights (non stop to Boston) out of Amsterdam and booked that last night (you have to book the rewards points seats very early as the airlines don't let too many of them go).

Antwerp is not far from there, but it looks like Brasschat is "on the way" to Amsterdam on the rail line so best case I could pick up the train there. It would not be that hard to get to Antwerp to catch the train however if that is all that is possible.....

Antwerp-Amsterdam is +/- 2u15 by train. Antwerp station is not far from Bob's. The nearest railway station to his place is 'Noorderkempen'.

I am planning on going over a few days earlier and heading to Bastogne (battle of the bulge), not been there yet, and then going to BBT, was thinking if someone needs a lift to HO i would help.

Looking forward to the meet. Myself and two friends are planning on coming from Canada to the event. We attended Bad Camberg in 2007 and very much enjoyed. I've heard that this event is even better :D

Will the VW38 from Lithuania be on display?

Regards from Canada everyone
Paul

A friend and I are planning to go as well. I wonder if we can get all the Canadians together some how.

The VW38 is for shure on display, also some other, intersting "KDF-Relicts" which were never seen in public before.

From Frankurt it is round about 300 Km to Hessisch Oldendorf. It might be better to book another flirght from Frankfurt to Hannover which is less hatn 30 Minutes from HO...

Thanks Björn,
I'm torn between driving and checking out the scenery, or the train. It looks like I'd have to go up Hanover first, then change trains and come back south again.
