Picked it up on St. Patricks day(Hence the name) for free from a lumber yard. Pretty rusty but it ran and had a clean title.

Did not take alot of pics in between but I hacked it up, Primered it, and bought an 8" beam extender from Larwence here on the samba. No red wheels here so I'm testing out some light blue.

Its a 40hp but the motor has no compression in #2. Minor setback but I have a line on a good longblock.

Cool, but I think Patty's wheels should be shamrock green!

Thanks, I have a green sparkle steering wheel and if I use it I'll change the wheels I would like some old slot mags in the rear and some salt discs up front. I got lots of time til summer.

Light blue is the new black. I have always dug those style of rear wheels. Where did you get the club plaque? Dig it man. :D

Thanks, The wheels and tires were off a 70's pontiac at the wrecking yard and the plaque I bought from a website called O'Brian truckers. http://www.obrientruckers.com/

Fabbed up some aluminium tail light brackets.

I rolled my own tach scoop to mount on the hood and I built a visor. I guess working in a sheetmetal shop helps.

Was going to mount a Tach in the hood but I have this cool old vacuum gauge I'm going to use instead. The fuel tank is in the rear so I can use the old fuel line in the tunnel as a vacuum line.

Tach in the hood was planned, for Operation X as well.
I guess great minds think alike 8-[

You'll get more action out of a vacuum gauge..

Nice visor..... looking good... Fun isnt it... ?

I started a volksrod years ago and never finished. I've been kicking myself til I got this bug, hope to have the motor back in this weekend.

Post some pics when you get the motor in. :)

Well the free longblock I got has a stripped out sparkplug hole on #4. I guess it could be a good sign that it was a runner til someone stripped it out. Going to pull the head and decide weather to helicoil it or put another used head that I have on it.

I also started to get my hood mounted vacuum gauge installed. Just the rough hole now but i'll clean it up.

This ismy bottle opener that has a door pop switch hidden behind it. No solonoids in the door yet but the beer opener is 100% operational. 8)

We are over a state and a half away so its legal for you to install a beer opener. Next is a stock steering wheel that has been stripped of its plastic an is getting new spokes, Stay tuned.

Bottle opener? Why not put a custom bottle dispenser on there somehow. It would definitely be something different.

It's rustolium 2 time coverage canyon black. I think I got lucky getting a good pic of the paint, got a lot of rework to do but thanks.
